I started with a lifelong long for statistics and baseball. Eventually got an internship doing basic data work. Dropped out of college to join that company full-time and become a data scientist. Most of my data science skills were gained either through work or online courses. I practiced my skills on baseball data, so when the Rays were hiring I was just the right candidate.
